Collective Farm of Village Karindzh in the Mountains Tumanyan
On the road back from the famous Tsover Lake in Dsegh village in the Lori Province of Armenia, one has the choice of taking the straight road back to the village, or making a sharp right turn to descend into the Martz river valley. Choosing the latter, one is rewarded not only with views of the numerous cascades in the Martz river, but also by this scene, made famous by Martiros Sarian in his painting "Collective farm of village Karindzh in the mountains Tumanyan" which now adorns the 5000 dram note of Armenian currency. Here is my take on the scene, photographed from the switchbacks down to the Martz river on May 16, 2016.
