It was but a reflection, the last color of the dying day, a reminiscence of a sunset that was now but a memory, washed over by waves as they hurried to drench the beach... High tide was nigh, and each crashing wave foretold of a shoreline that would be changed forever, one day at a time.
It is the fabled Siren song, the crash of waves on the seashore that draws you out of bed and onto the beach to greet the rising Sun... A spring tide fueled by the new moon, playful waves bathing shoreline rocks that missed them so, and a sky holding the Sun at bay for just a little while longer... Sunrise is but a memory now, but what a memory it is... Photographed January 2022, Cambria California.
