Stretching Limbs Toward the Sun

Perhaps it’s my background in astronomy, or perhaps the insinuation that my head is always in the clouds is actually true... Whatever the reason, I find myself attracted to trees reaching for the sky, their branches like arms raised in supplication, an orans to the forces of nature that propel the clouds above, the very same forces against which the tree has persevered through the ages, and the very same forces that have shaped it into a sculpture worthy of the gallery within which it resides.
